Materials Label Systems |
All labels shown are available for immediate
shipment.
RTK 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 series are
packaged 500 labels per roll. RTK 600, 700,
800, 900, 1000, and 1100 series are sheeted
and packed in 100 sheet packages.
The Hazard Communication Standard specifically
mandates that all containers of hazardous materials
be labeled with an appropriate warning. While
this warning does not have to include all of
the information contained on the MSDS, it does
have to convey enough information to tell the
user the name of the chemical, the name and
address of the manufacturer, the type of hazard
that exists, how to properly handle the chemical
or type of protective equipment necessary,
and possible specific damage (i.e. lung damage.)
The most popular label systems use a number
rating and color coding for the three areas
of HEALTH (blue), FLAMMABITLITY (red), and
REACTIVITY (yellow), and an ALPHABETICAL rating
for the type of personal protective equipment
to use. |

The National Fire Protection Association
(NFPA) has developed a coding system that is
useful in safeguarding those involved in fire
protection and control. The NFPA uses color coded
hazard areas: FIRE (red), REACTIVITY (yellow),
SPECIFIC (white), and Health (blue). These labels
are useful in identifying materials whose fire
hazard is not readily apparent.
